Blog Post 1: A country you would like to visit (English IV)

Hi everyone!

One of the countries that i always wanted to visit is Mexico, because I like a lot the culture and gastronomic things of it. Also, the history about that country is very interesting, especially the revolutionary part.

The information that I know about Mexico is not so extended, but i think that I can describe some interesting aspects of it. First, Mexico have a rich culture talking about indigenous people, because there are 68 ancestral lenguajes that are still used by some communities. Another important information is that Mexico is the second country with most catholic people according to "Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía" of that place. Finally, about the history of the country, one of the national heroes of mexican revolution is Emiliano Zapata, leader of the "Ejército Libertador del Sur". Currently, there is one political and militar movement that recognise the ideas of Zapata, that is the "Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional".

I would like to go to the Universidad Autónoma de México and to the city of Torreón. The first one because is an institution in which I would like to study someday, and the second one just because i saw in the internet that in that city you can find various mexican styles of food. I love tacos, and definitely I need to taste the original ones.

Being sincerely, I wouldn't like to live in Mexico. I study journalism and, seeing the situtation with the State and drug trafficking, doing my profession in that country basically is a risk for my life. I love that country anyway, but for the moment I would visit him just as a tourist.

  1. Hi Eric, I have also seen in the news the things that they have done to journalists who try to expose the dirty laundry of politics and their connection with drug trafficking.
I don’t like investigative journalism TBH, but I do believe that it’s important and especially in that country.

  2. Hi Eric!! When I think of Mexico, La rosa de guadalupe hahaha comes to my mind. I would love to try some Mexican tacos, they look delicious, but this country scares me a little because of kidnappings and killings.

  3. Hi Eric! The information you posted about Catholicism is very interesting and makes sense to me for all the traditions they have. What also seems to me dual due to the great incorporation of some Mexicans to the religion of Santa Muerte.

  9. I would also be very interested in getting to know Mexico, especially because the film industry there is much bigger than in Chile, I think it could be a good job opportunity.
