Hi everyone!
The best concert that I assisted was the presentation of Inti Illimani on Caldera in summer of 2019. I remember that was specifically in the "Bienvenido Verano" festival from that city, that most of the time is celebrated in december.
Talking about Inti Illimani, we can say that is probably one of the most important band of our country. They are the new agrupation of "Inti Illimani Histórico", composed by the original members of the group. Also, they have been playing since 1967, focused in the music of folclore, protest songs and latin rhythms. If we categorize this band in an specfific musical movement, it would be in the "Nueva Canción Chilena", that contain another great artists like Victor Jara or Violeta Parra.
That concert was epic because as chileans we were passing by important political and social manifestations related to the "estallido social", so the disconform with the gouverment and the system in general were still present. Inti Illimani, recognised for being a leftist group, played "El derecho de vivir en paz" and "El pueblo unido", songs that now are practically anthems in popular mobilizations. I enjoyed it a lot because the atmosphere in that concert was of companionship, feeling that all the people were fighting for a better country. So emotional, definitely.
Finally, I ate a seafood empanada when the concert ended. :)
Hi Eric, Intillimani is an important part of the culture of our country. They also reach all generations with their music and the history of struggle that they transmit to us, which clearly belongs to everyone. You are lucky to see them live!

ResponderEliminarHi Eric. Inti Illimani probably should sound very good in live. Also are a very important part of the musical history in our contry so see them in live should be historic and memorable

Hi Eric, I have also enjoyed some concerts in Caldera and I agree with you that the atmosphere that is generated by listening to a good band in front of the beach with other fans is amazing. I hope you can have another similar experience!

ResponderEliminarRecently I found out that they went to "encuentros en el estudio", the argentinian TV show, and it filled me with pride to see them in an international show.
Inti Illimani is one of my favorite musical groups. I collect vinyl, my favorite is El canto del programa, I could invite you to listen to them one day!
